This piece is meant to show a woman with a Bonsai tree replacing her hair. The tree becomes a symbol of knowledge. I wanted this piece to have Feminism aspects that show the full knowledge of a woman. The tree bark replaces the hair because our life and knowledge are constantly growing just like hair, expanding in experiences. I specifically chose a Bonsai tree because they range in different shapes yet stay miniature. Size, however, does not represent the age of this tree as they can live up to 800 years. I wanted to make this comparison to stop assumptions made against the capabilities of women.
